About the course

This course provides California dental professionals with a comprehensive review of state-mandated infection control standards. Participants learn proper sterilization, disinfection, and barrier techniques; safe handling of instruments, dental unit waterlines, and clinical surfaces; and compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and Dental Board regulations. Special emphasis is placed on medical waste management, maintaining dental laboratory and operatory hygiene, and employee roles in ensuring patient and staff safety. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to implement consistent infection control practices that protect patients, staff, and their practice, while meeting California’s regulatory requirements.
